Keith fell in love with the game of basketball at age seven. Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he grew up in an era when basketball in his hometown was prominent in the country. Developing quickly as a youth player, Keith became a standout at the club and Jr High School level. During his high
school career, Keith was a multiple MVP and All Star award winner.
At only age sixteen, Keith was selected to the Nova Scotia Provincial Senior Men's U19 team where they competed at the Canada Games in British Columbia. During his provincial team days Keith was a key member of the team and competed in tournaments all over Canada and The United States.
After high school Keith left home to attend Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. During his time playing for the Algonquin Thunder, Keith led his team to several OCAA provincial finals appearances, medalling twice, as well as personally collecting two league All Stars, OCAA 1st team All Star and a CCAA All Canadian Award.
Upon finishing college Keith played professionally in Europe and the United States. During a few seasons playing in EuroLeague, Keith served as a player/coach to his pro team and often mentored and coached youth teams.
Having many successful years as a pro, Keith played and trained with athletes of all levels including NBA, WNBA, G League, NCAA and EuroLeague. Living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the off season, he was able to surround himself with top basketball, fitness and weight trainers as well as
compete in the best summer leagues where he would continue to learn and develop.
Keith voluntarily stepped away from playing basketball professionally after the birth of his children. He and his wife relocated to Ottawa after living in Philadelphia, PA for many years. Keith became involved with the Nepean Blue Devils Basketball Association when his children became of age to play.
He was an active board member for one year and was Head Coach of the Boys Major Atom U12 Competitive Team for the 2017-2018 season. During the 2018/19 season Keith served as co head coach for U12 Boys Ottawa Guardsmen.
The following year he was an assistant for U13 Ottawa Elite before moving into the head coaching position where he remained until 2023. Keith saw much success coaching Ottawa Elite, leading them to the best record in the CYBL in back to back seasons. Ottawa Elite finished with a silver medal in 2022/23.
Keith was also an assistant coach and skills trainer for Canada TopFlight Academy Jr Boys during the 2022/23 campaign. He helped coach the team to the best record in the National Junior Circuit and to a playoff finals finish.
Keith also saw time as an assistant coach for West Ottawa U19 girls during the 2022/23 season.
Keith has many years' experience as a coach and began coaching youth as a counselor at basketball camps when he was just fourteen years old. He continued to volunteer coaching during his high school, college and professional career.
Now as the owner, founder and lead Player Development Coach at The Performance Factory, Keith is bringing his extensive basketball knowledge and skills to train players in the greater Ottawa and Eastern Ontario area.
A registered NCCP coach and continuously working towards more coaching and training
certifications, Keith still remains a student of the game with a strong desire to give back to the community.
With the explosion of basketball in Canada Keith recognizes the need for more elite basketball training and character and confidence building for our young players.
